Can sickle cell be treated with desferal and vitamin c?

No, but---: Desferal is a chelating agent that binds iron. Usually sickle patients accumulate too much iron from blood transfusions and desferal will help in this complication. Vitamin c only helps to mobilize iron and does not actually treat sickle cell patients. Hope this information helps.
