Healthy gallbladder: Gallstones are linked to chronic liver disease (stones usually of pigment type), but also reflect low hdl/high triglycerides, genetics, age, sex (females 2x more), obesity, drugs, low fiber, tpn, diabetes, hemolysis, pregnancy, primary biliary diseases. Improving risk factors above will not only reduce stone disease, but may reduce development of sludge/sand, and may improve gallbladder function.
