Marburg & Ebola: Marburg Virus & Ebola both cause severe hemorrhagic fevers in humans & are Filoviridae. They both have a similar clinical presentation. Fatality rate from Marburg virus outbreaks has been 24 to 88%. Zaire Ebola virus had 88% death rate when discovered in 1976 with 70% death rate for current West African outbreak. They are spread via body fluids.
