Unlikely : It will not likely cause problems. The expiry dates are guidelines and the product may be past it's peak freshness but not toxic. The store should be notified or public health that they are selling outdated products. Any symptoms would likely be brief and there may be none. Watch for vomiting or diarrhea and make sure he is well hydrated. If he has persistent diarrhea or vomiting have him checked.
