Well the #1 reason: Is pregnancy. So assuming you are sexually active, make sure that y rule that out first. No method of birth control is 100% effective other than surgical sterilization. Depo provera (medroxyprogesterone) frequently causes menses to stop. It's sometimes used therapeutically for this reason. And extreme exercise in young athletes can also interfere with cycles, as can anorexia nervosa. Long list. Try home pregnancy test.

Missed cycle: Pregnancy is the number one cause of a missed period, other common causes may be an Anovulatory cycle (you just do not ovulate that one month), anxiety/stress, thyroid issues, rapid weight gain or loss. Best wishes.
