Constipation: constipation after using pain medicine is very common. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) is a great medication to help with this. Yes you could stop it right away if you have been off the pain pills for a few days, if not I would suggest you stay on it until you are done taking them. You may want to continue for 2-3 days after your bowels are working well.

In reality, coping with it with minimal use of pain medication is the surest way to lessen using pain medication, which is the main culprit of constipation besides less activities. To serve political correctness, using pain med after procedures is essential, but in reality, it is optional as long as being tolerable.
