Eye hurts and double vision after getting hit in it?

Urgent problem: Anytime there is pain or change of vision following trauma to the eye, a prompt eye examination by an ophthalmologist is required. Any number of problems such as bleeding within the fluids of the eye, inflammatory reaction, fractures of the delicate bones which surround the eye (orbital bones), damage or swelling in the retina, retinal tear or detachment are all possible problems after trauma.
