A member asked:

Is hypospadius and chordee can be treated on an adult? what is the procedure, healing time and side effects (psychologically and physically)?

Dr. George Klauber answered

Specializes in Pediatric Urology

Can be corrected: Pediatric urologists are most experienced with this kind of surgery in all ages. Repair depends upon severity of chordee, location of meatus (urinary opening), size of penis, presence or absence of foreskin & possible previous surgery. Urologist selected will explain all this. Healing time also varies with kind of repair. Back to work in 2 weeks, 6 weeks for sex. Counseling might be helpful.
