my girlfriend took a sip of soda from a friend's cup who is hiv positive and they said they had a nose bleed earlier in theday. should she be worried?

No: that is not a risk factor for the spreading of HIV. Sharing of utensils, glasses, plates, etc. are not risk factors. Having a nosebleed earlier in the day is not a risk factor for contamination of his drink with blood.
