You can get pregnant: The likelihood of pregnancy immediately post period is minimal, but not zero due to aberrant ovulation on occasion. Run a pregnancy test at the end of this cycle and use contraception going forward if not pregnant to avoid this question.

Don't know the: length of your normal menstrual cycle to know when you are likely to ovulate. But bottom line is that any time you have unprotected sex - you are putting yourself at risk for pregnancy. Would take a home pregnancy test if you miss your period when it is anticipated. Take care.

Ovulatory cycle: Ovulation occurs 14 days from the start of menses in a regular 28 day cycle. So, if you have an extremely predictable 28 day cycle, and had unprotected sex on day 5, it is unlikely you are pregnant. However, sperm can survive for days in the female reproductive tract, and ovulation can be off by a few days, so wait until your next period or get tested; avoid unprotected sex. Good luck!
