No ....: It would be unusual to have herpes zoster/shingles without any pain. The usual case is to have the pain first, then an outbreak of rash with vesicles ... little fluid filled bumps. An eczema-type rash would be the most likely explanation for your rash which sounds like it is resolving on its own. Using an oil-free moisturizer would probably be a good idea. Good wishes!
