Lap 5 days ago. surgical tape at belly button has a lot of blood under it. stings. worried it won't stay dry. can't see incision. take tape off??

Call the surgeon: Who did your surgery. If you are slowly bleeding from the surgical site, this needs to be checked. If this is old blood from5 days ago, you can wait till tomorrow to talk to surgeon . I am sure you have follow up appointment this week post lap. If you are having Fever, increasing pain and increasing Blood , go to ER

Ok to: Yes, you should be able to take off the tape now and check how it looks. This may help with the stinging. Is it fresh blood? Usually not at five days.
