A member asked:

I eat a lot of tuna, flounder.. lots of fish. am female, 35, not sexually active. do i need to worry about mercury? could it cause muscle spasms?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Fish twice weekly: I believe that the latest recommendations on how often fish should be consumed due to mercury contamination is on the order of twice weekly. Also, certain fish are noted to have MORE mercury in them due to their size and how the fish itself absorbs this contaminant. If you have muscle spasms I'd look for other causes and worry about mercury as anything significant for that issue.
