PFT...: A pulmonary function test can diagnose if there is an obstructive defect present. If it does show airway obstruction, it is repeated after a bronchodilator is given. If the obstruction is still present post-bronchodilator therapy, then it is called chronic obstruction and, in conjunction with clinical signs and symptoms, a diagnosis of COPD can be made. A lung doc can confirm and treat COPD!
