Harm if too many PVC: Symptomatic PVCs may cause distressing symptoms, and many patients with this condition take beta blocker regularly, not just with exercise. They generally do not harm the heart unless > 20% of your beats are PVCs. In such cases, a weakened heart muscle may develop, which is why it is important to use beta blocker or other med to suppress or reduce the % of PVCs.
