A member asked:

What are the options for treating suspected thrush? creams burn and make irritation heaps worse so do pissary.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Oral?: Thrush is an oral fungal infection and can be treated with lozenges or liquid "swishes". I suspect that you are talking about a vaginal infection. These are usually treated with vaginal creams or suppositories. They can be treated with gentian violet but it stains. The oral medicine fluconazole is often used and other oral antifungals can be used in resistant cases. Hope that helps.
