A member asked:

When i donate plasma it goes into the bottle and is a light green/purple color is there a reason why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Donating Plasma: When they take your blood it is whole blood from the venous side of the body. It is deoxygenated blood, meaning the oxygen has been taken out of it by the organs of the body and it is on its way back to the heart. Arterial blood is the red blood we are used to seeing on TV and in the movies.
