Bilateral nonpalp undesecned testis.6 month old boy.kareotype proves male.u/s shows both testis as intra abdominal.doc suggested laproscopy.what risk?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Risk of cancer: The testicles need a lower temp than the rest of the body. For that reason they descend into the scrotal sac. When they do not descend and remain in the abdominal cavity the have a high risk of becoming cancerous. They must be "pulled down" surgically. I would ask our surgical colleagues to please address the risks of the laparoscopic procedure vs the traditional approach.
