Noisy feeder: It is very common for infants to make noises while they are feeding and the causes are many, most of which are of no major concern. Noises associated with color change of the face, choking and gagging, or feeding difficulties should be evaluated. Adequate weight gain as monitored routinely by your pediatrician is a good sign that this is not a significant issue.

Management/M.D.: If your daughter is still having an inspiratory high pitched noise it may be related to an anatomic change in the airway diameter. Most babies will outgrow this by the age of 18 months. The medical term is laryngomalacia. If her growth is normal, and she is without any color changes of her lips, nailbeds or skin, it is less likely to cause future problems.
