Yes, in some cases: Anytime there is chronic inflammation in a part of the body, that increases cell turnover and the risk of cancer is increased. This is true of most organ systems in the body. The relative risk depends on many things, such as the specific nature of the thyroid disorder, how it was/is treated and whether or not there is ongoing inflammation in the gland. I suggest discussing this with endocrinology.
