Maybe not COPD: You will likely need to see your physician about your diagnosis, however looking at your medical history above, you have never smoked and so for a young person at age 44 to have COPD is unlikely (unless you have asthma or a genetic cause of COPD). It's important to ensure that you were diagnosed by a pulmonologist. You should have had a pulmonary function test. If not, ask for one.

Weird: You may have something else besides COPD. Check with your lung doc and ask about CT scanning. By the way, you are too young to have COPD. Ask about work up such ATT deficiency and other ones. No reason to wait.
