You may have a cold: or your occipital nodes may be swollen and inflamed from your sinus drainage or head cold. If in the ears, then consider going to an ENT doctor for evaluation or your PCP to begin with. There a lymph nodes behind your ears and when they swell it can affect you while lying down, or coughing or sneezing. Get checked out!
