Diet and exercise: Eat a healthy diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables and adequate amounts of protein. Exercise 150 minutes per week by running, walking quickly, cycling, swimming or aerobics. Stop smoking if you smoke. Achieve a healthy weight for your height. If these do not lower your cholesterol to acceptable ranges, consult your physician for the possibility of cholesterol lowering medications.
