Sure: Start yourself on a course of miconasole ( monistat) or clotrimasole over the counter now. Keep your appointment for now. You should be tremendously better by about the fourth or fifth day, in which you can cancel the appointment.

Listen to your body : You probably have a good idea of what is going on. The over the counter preps like Monistat are acceptable treatment for a vaginal yeast infection. However, even if this works out, please follow up with your medical provider since yeast infections can be a sign of other underlying problems.

Worth a try: If you definitely don't think it could be an STD, it is certainly reasonable to try Monistat.
