Because: Ebola can only be transmitted by a person if they have active symptoms of disease / fever. However, if the person wore contaminated clothing / was contaminated - the virus can remain alive for a brief period in ambient conditions. But isolation of medical staff who are clean is not required if asymptomatic. However, Ebola contacts should be monitored for 21 days after last contact.
