Compressing urethra: it sounds like the ransom is compressing your urethra. You may try to place the tampon deeper in the vagina. If that doesn't help, you may just need to use pads.

Tampon: placement: You may be inserting the tampon not far enough into the vagina, and the pressure upwards on your urethra forces straining to urinate. If you insert the tampon back further, the volume of the tampon will not interfere with urination. A "sagging bladder" can occur, but is usually only after difficult childbirth.
