??: hard to say best to talk with your orthopedic surgeon/ 8 cm is a lot of bone to regenerate it will take a good while

Varible!: Unfortunately your situation is a very frustrating problems and there is no "correct" answer. Non-union heals very gradually and although bone "stimulaters" help there are not many scientifically based studies which show how much they hel! Be "patient" (yup a patient must be patient sometimes) although I sympathize with your condition Hope this helps a bit Dr Z
