Cold sores: If you have active lesions or the tingling that warns you an outbreak is coming, be careful and do not kiss them. With the exception of young babies and immunocompromised children, kissing on the head should not create a problem.

Avoid kissing: If you have an active visible sore, it is prudent to avoid kiss contact. Under 3- 6 months of age it can be quite serious, since babies by protocol would need treatment. Even if they are older, it is best to avoid.
