Could be pregnant: Hi. The ovulation test tests for the LH surge associated with ovulation. In pregnancy, the placenta secretes chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), which is biochemically and functionally very similar to LH. Most ovulation tests do not distinguish between LH and hCG. If you missed a period and your ovulation test is positive, I'd suggest you do a pregnancy test and see your gyn.
