Coloring & Pregnancy: Not much research on safety of hair color during pregnancy. Chemicals are absorbed through the skin, although usually a very small amount. One study linked hair color to a possible increased risk for cancer in the newborn but others have not. As a general rule, I'd stick to not coloring the hair if possible, and best to avoid during the beginning of pregnancy as cells are dividing more then.
