Doctor can look: A primary care doctor can look at a throat's itchy spot, if the spot is easy to see. If the spot is hard to see, then an ENT doctor can look at it with a fiberoptic camera or a mirror. Depending on one's age and risk factors, an itchy spot may just go away on its own after a few days, or it may be a sign of something more serious. Tobacco users, for example, are more likely to get cancer.
