Can be other reasons: Yes, either if your levels are low (hypothyroid ) or high (hyperthyroid ). You should see your doctor for a simple blood test . There can be other reasons. Needless to say , pregnancy will cause this too.

Yes: Hyperthyroidism(overactive thyroid) can lead to loss of regular bleeding and hypothyroid(underactive thyroid) can lead to heavy/light bleeding.
