Hard to: Say without a picture. However if your doctor who saw the rash gave you a topical antibiotics for irritation and it is effective, I have no basis to second guess his assessment. If concerned about STD request testing and practice safe sex

Probably not, but...: Assuming your doctor is experienced in recognizing herpes, I see no reason to doubt her diagnosis and advice. However, even the most expert doctors sometimes mistake herpes for other things, and vice versa. No other STD is a likely cause of symptoms like these. If you have other reasons to suspect STD, like a known infected partner, discuss it further with your doctor. Good luck.
