Fungus among us: If you noticed that they are more prominent since you have been to the beach or had a tan than it is likely Tinea Versicolor, a common fungus that does not allow the skin under it to darken thus leaving white blotchy areas. Very common. Combination of selenium shampoo and topical antifungal cream usually does the trick. Have your primary care take a look.
