Spotting for 2 days: Ovulation occurs at about this time, and can cause spotting for "2 days". Ten days later (Oct. 20 ?) is too soon for a hpt to be reliably positive. Obtain a serum HCG test from your healthcare provider in about five days if your period has not started to be sure of pregnancy.
