Some suggestions: Pain in the coccyx(coccydynia) area often results from a bruise, sprain or fracture of coccyx. The popping sensation may be due instability of the coccyx with hyper mobility when the patient sits. Sometimes the coccyx moves out of place relative to the sacrum on sitting and snaps back into place on standing. For more info See: bit.ly/10en02W and bit.ly/1wrroYd
