Plenty: If there has not been an injury or accident this is less likely harmful. The various ligaments, tendons, bones with cartilage discs could be causing your ailment. A thorough head and neck exam by your doctor can determine the level of where this is coming from. Please see your doctor as repetitive clicking could cause pain over time.

Crepitus: The other name for the cracking noticed around joints, isn't necessarily a sign of dangerous pathology. If you have no pain or limitations on your range of motion it may be related to a process known as "cavitation" (like with knuckle cracking) alternatively to rapid stretching of the ligaments. If you have symptoms then it could be related to degenerative changes of the bones/soft tissue.
