Will grow back: Depakote cause hair loss in 5-10 % of pt, but it is reported in up to 28% of pts.. Normally hairs start to grow back 2-3 months of onset of hair loss, but texture may be changed. Add Biotin,Selenium and zink supplement in your diet. Depakote deplete Biotin. Use mild shampoo, No hair dyes, no heated curlers, avoid using hair dryers. Selenium: helps with hair breakage from Depakote. You might want to have your thyroid and cortisol levels checked as well. Your hair stylist may have insights into other things you can do. Doctors that specialize in complimentary medicine and optimal health can go one step further. Assays can be done on hair samples for amino acid, vitamin and mineral deficiencies and toxicities ( somewhat expensive)
