An X-ray will decide: You probably did break your toe but an x-ray would be the deciding factor. This is the most common fracture that I see in my practice and such a conditions is usually treated with non-weight bearing, open toed shoe, anti-inflammatory medications, splinting the toes together with medical tape. I advise you to see a local podiatrist for an x ray and to make sure the bones are not out of alignment.
