No they don't: #1 cause of kidney stones is dehdration sausing urine output to be low & concentrated. #2 is hypercalcuria, secretion of excessive amounts of calcium in the urine. Kidney blockage causing stasis or hydronephrosis, other causes: high salt intake, kidney infections especially with proteus, gout & high uric acid excretion, inflammatory bowel disease & high urate excrettion, cystinuria. Not coke & drp.

Soda: Typically, soda will not promote stones. They do contain phosphate, which might crystallize in urine with calcium but usually does not. The phosphoric acid may enhance calcium release from bone into urine. But, soda is not a stone promoter. Lemonade is a stone preventer. So is orange juice. High fluid intake - 4 liter per day is important to prevent stones.
