A member asked:

Stool colour yellow with brown patches , and pain below the belly button .what does it mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Colitis: The yellowish stools usually are caused by more rapid transit through the intestinal tract and are soft. The abdominal discomfort suggests irritability and/or inflammation of the colon. A viral infection is more common than a bacterial or parasitic one. See your physician if symptoms persist or significant abdominal tenderness, fever,or vomiting develop.
