When was your LMP?: That means last menstrual period. Usually docs use that to calculate pregnancy in weeks. You most likely will find if you are 20 weeks or more that you cannot obtain a safe legal abortion. The laws vary from state to state but past 20 weeks is illegal in nearly every state. Consider the fact that many couples wish to adopt a newborn. Your baby is wanted by someone, and will be loved and cared for.

See below.: At 5 months pregnant you are 21 1/2 weeks pregnant which is in the second trimester. Constitutionally you have the right to terminate a healthy pregnancy at least to the point of fetal viability outside the womb, which originally was between 24 and 27 weeks. However, the "legality" of pregnancy now varies from state to state and the practical availability of abortion services varies even more.
