Cervical cancer: The concern for females is that there is an association between high risk hpv types and cervical and vulvar cancers. However, hpv infections are incredibly common and most people with hpv do not get cancer. It's important to be up to date with your visit with your gynecologist.

Depends: Women have been getting PAP smears for decades to monitor for cervical cancer. We now understand that many strains of HPV are associated with this, oral and rectal cancer.If anything, knowing you have had HPV can provide more motivation to get your followups.
