I have tailbone pain. is this related to ovarian cancer?

The tail remnant is: Called the coccyx. Pain in that area is usually from falling on your bum. There are pilonidal cycsts than can become infected. Ovarian cancer does not commonly cause bony metastasis, and a pain in this region would not be a presenting sign.

Not likely.: Ovarian cancer is a disease that can be asymptomatic, and/or show nonspecific findings, like increased abdominal girth/size. Other tests must be done to be sure. The three tests done are transvaginal ultrasound, physical exam of the pelvis, and a ca-125+/- other markers blood test. Tailbone pain is more likely to be from sitting for a long time and/or injury. If it persists, see your doctor.

It depends: What type of pain? What stage is the cancer? Ovarian cancer presents among other complaints with abdominal pain. It rarely goes to bone. Pain in the tailbone could be related to pressure from the abdominal distension and cancer. Or, it might be separate and related to previous injury or pathology. Consult your physician. Thank you.
