Very serious: VTach is a serious and possibly deadly heart rhythm. It can cause sudden cardiac death so you may not have time to do anything. However, this is not a common rhythm and the majority of the time only certain people with known risk factors are predisposed to it. You should know why you are at risk and how big your risk of having this, is. Finally, if this happens while you're alone I'd call 911

To be honest: If you develop sustained ventricular tachycardia(usually greater than 30 secs in duration), it's very possible that you'll pass out, as many hearts do not tolerate this type of rhythm. But if you feel like your heart rate is persistently elevated, you should seek an urgent evaluation. I would avoid driving as you don't want to pass-out while driving.
