Yes!: This is perfectly normal! The " quickening" of a new baby can feel like " knocking" to a "fluttering" feeling low in the belly. Congratulations on your growing baby!

Doubt it: Most mothers with prior experience will perceive their baby by 16 weeks, while 1st timers usually take longer. At 13 weeks they are active, but weigh less than 4 oz. How you would distinguish its movements from that of random bowel gas migration is hard to say. There may be a bit of anticipation involved.
