How does g6pd deficiency lead to hydrops fetalis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

G6PD: G6PD is a deficiency in an enzyme which is important in the stability of the RBC membrane. Shortened RBC survival (hemolysis) occurs in response to a variety of triggers (infection, medications, stress) resulting in soft tissue edema in the cavities of the fetal body.
