This type of deficiency is very specific, and also involves staying away from certain drugs, medications, foods that are metabolized by this pathway, especially not using Tylenol (acetaminophen). Vitamins and G6PD: The problem is more about what vitamins the child shouldn't have. Kids with G6PD should not take ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Since almost every commercially available vitamin has fairly high levels of vitamin C, these are all no-nos. Encourage your child to eat a healthy, varied diet and extra vitamins will then not be needed. It's better to get them naturally through foods anyway....
