Metabolic coz of sz: There are many. Electrolytes (sodium, calcium, potassium) being very low or high. Infections (non neurological infections too). Alcohol withdrawal. Alcohol toxicity. Medication side effects (wellbutrin). Low blood glucose. High blood glucose. Metabolic acidosis. Many of these causes can be treated. This is why people with a first time seizure undergo blood tests.
