A member asked:

I'm 13 and i noticed that there was a pre-auricular pit on the crus of my helix. could that have caused my sebaceous cyst?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Related to pit: A preauricular pit is part of a range of congenital conditions that are related to embryological development of the first and second branchial clefts. They can range from small "pits" or dimples to longer tracts known as "sinuses" or to abnormal communications called "fistulas" when these longer passages get " pinched off" or occluded, they can form a cyst which looks like a sebaceous cyst
